Reproductive health app Clue partners with Headspace

Femtech company Clue, which offers an app focused on menstrual cycle tracking and reproductive health, announced it is partnering with digital mental health company Headspace to provide Clue Plus Members a 50% discount off a Headspace subscription.

Clue offers reproductive health services from period to pregnancy tracking.

Through the partnership, Clue Plus Members will have access to Headspace's mental health and mindfulness offerings to better understand at which points of their cycle they experience the most stress. 

The partnership will also offer Clue Plus Members targeted support for cycle tracking, pregnancy, fertility, and perimenopause/menopause to help individuals navigate the different stages of their cycle. 

"By combining Clue's leading cycle tracking insights and predictions with Headspace's expert mental health resources, we can help members navigate changes throughout their cycle and manage stress and feelings of everyday anxiety associated with big life changes like trying to conceive, pregnancy, and perimenopause," Rhiannon White, chief product officer at Clue, said in a statement.

In 2013, Clue received €16 million ($17.5 million) in funding to roll out its app in the U.S. and announced its founder, Ida Tin, would step down with co-CEOs Audrey Tsang and Carrie Walter taking the role. 

The company garnered $7 million and $2 million in 2015, and in 2016, secured $20 million in a Series B round.

In 2021, the company received FDA 510(k) clearance to launch Clue Birth Control, an all-digital form of contraceptive that relies on period tracking data. 

Last year, it announced a partnership with Finland-based Oura, the maker of its namesake health-tracking ring.

The pair would combine Clue’s menstrual health tracking capabilities with the wearable maker's biometric sensing abilities to assist with personal health management and research on female health.

Earlier this year, Clue raised €7 million ($7.6 million) in funding. 

This week, Headspace announced a partnership with Spring Fertility, a network of fertility clinics, to provide individuals with family-building challenges access to Headspace’s mental health services.
