Digital Therapeutics Alliance CEO joins FDA Digital Health Advisory Committee and more digital health news

Andy Molnar, CEO of the Digital Therapeutics Alliance, has been selected as an industry representative for the FDA's Digital Health Advisory Committee (DHAC). 

The FDA established the DHAC to ensure safe and effective regulation of digital health offerings, including AI and machine learning, virtual reality, cybersecurity, patient-generated health data and wearable technologies. 

The committee advises the FDA commissioner on issues related to digital health tech and policies and regulations around the technologies.  

Molnar will be responsible for the segments of real-world data and evidence, digital diagnostics, technologies enabling decentralized clinical trials and other trial designs, and augmented reality and virtual reality, including technical and clinical aspects. 

"As a member of the DHAC, I am committed to advocating for policies that support innovation and patient access to evidence-based digital therapeutics," Molnar said in a LinkedIn post. 

"I look forward to collaborating with esteemed colleagues to ensure that DTx solutions are effectively integrated into our healthcare system, ultimately improving patient outcomes."

Arrive AI, maker of a smart mailbox platform, announced the appointments of John Gallina, former executive vice president and CFO of Elevance Health, and Jim Brainard, former mayor of the city of Carmel, California. 

Arrive AI offers an automated delivery system that utilizes people, robots and drones to enable deliveries. The company says its platform provides the potential for healthcare organizations to deliver pharmacy supplies between medical facilities. 

Gallina was a special advisor to the CEO at health insurance giant Elevance Health. He also held executive positions at the health insurer formerly known as Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield healthcare insurance company Wellpoint. 

Gallina will join Arrive AI's board of directors and chair the company's Audit Committee, while Brainard will oversee its municipal partner development efforts. 

"Arrive AI has a transformative platform that I think mayors across America will want to see in their communities. I'm looking forward to introducing them to it," Brainard said in a statement. 

Healthcare management company CareAbout Health, which provides a platform to enable value-based care arrangements, announced the appointment of Masoud Nourmohammadi as its new chief technology officer. 

Nourmohammadi previously served as vice president of engineering at Health Catalyst, a healthcare data and analytics company, where he led the creation of the company's data repository. He then joined Strive Health, a kidney care company, as chief technology officer. 

Most recently, Nourmohammadi was chief technology officer at value-based senior women's care company Herself Health. 

"CareAbout Health was built on the premise of leveraging technology to drive healthcare improvements, and I look forward to working with them to develop a world-class, innovative technology team as well as a comprehensive analytics, dispatch and decision-making hub designed to enhance provider experience and patient lives every day," Nourmohammadi said in a statement.
