  1. Wow, a protein filled cornbread mug cake? I’ll take one with chili on top!

    • OMG I didn’t even think of that!!! Great idea, Em!

  2. I’ve never had cornbread before! This might be the time to give it a go!

    • SERIOUSLY!? OMG you must try it!!! You’ll love it!

  3. I LOVE cornbread! I grew up in Canada, and we didn’t really eat it there. SO, when I came down here and experienced it? OBSESSED. This is so easy and perfect to get my fix anytime! Love it!

    • Thanks so much Taylor! Isn’t it the best?! Reminds me of summer and BBQ season!

  4. I never tried cornbread but I love the fact its high in protein. Thanks for linking to #CookBlogShare

  5. This looks deeeelish! I often make microwave cornbread whenever we have chili because I’ll almost be ready to serve and Jesse will be like “but what about the cornbread?!?!” and I need a quick fix 😛 I always forget that I married a southern man who can’t have chili without it!

    • Love chili and cornbread!

  6. I love this idea, and have seen so many of them, cakes, puddings, etc. Un fortunately, I don’t do “microwave”. It has been shown to be unhealthy for you as it totally changes the molecular structure of all foods, including WATER!!! So I’ll try to figure out a way to do this in the oven, instead, making it a totally excellent healthy choice!
    Thanks!

    • Let me know if you try it in the oven!

  7. Sounds like a great quick and easy lunch for my hungry homeschooled boys!

  8. Cornbread in any form is a winner to me!! I like the idea of this healthier/dessert version. Pinning.

  9. I love cornbread anyway I can get it. But I really love it with a little melted butter and honey. I wonder what your recipe for cornbread in a mug would be like with blueberries on the bottom of it? For some reason that is sounding really good to me. In the springtime I not only crave a great baked pastry style snack, but I crave fruit too.

  24. chili on top..what kind of chili? chili sauce or chili beans huh

    • Like real chili! The stew! 🙂 If you made some in a crockpot these would be great to have on the side!!

  25. I am going to try this tonight! I cannot tolerate A1 beta casein in cow dairy, so I will be using naked goat goat whey and some crumbled manche go cheese mixed in. Will let you know how it turns out.

    • Sounds good! Let me know how it goes!!

  26. Cannot use whey pod what can I use for a substitute

    • Have not tested any other types of protein, so I cannot vouch for the results of using anything other than whey protein. Sorry!
